The Life and image History of Mr Isaiah Lahai Senior
My name is Mr Fayia Isaiah Lahai, I was born in the Republic of Sierra Leone. I a son to Mr and Mrs Lahai. My story began when I was a teenager living happily with parent and siblings. Life was very good and I was very content with what my dad use to provide for us to survive. Until in the year 1991, the story that change my life began to unfold. On a beautiful afternoon when I was doing what teenagers normally do with their friends, I had a call from my mum urging me to meet her with urgency. By the time I reached home, (our house), all of my relatives including mum, dad, brothers and sisters had gun. There was no one left for me to look up to. I decided to follow the moving crow with the hope that I will be able to locate my parents. I walked for one day before I could luckily locate my parents. I could say to this day, I am one of the luckiest young man to have survive the calamity that befell the nation of Sierra Leone from 1991 to 2002.

I spent 14 horrible years living in five refugee camps in Guinea where I and my family where subjected to live in miserable conditions for two years before we could get the assistance from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Life as a refugee is like life as a prisoner without hope of release.

It was in the refugee camp that I met my wife Lovet. She has ever since been a wife, sister, mother, friend and someone for me to trust and today, by the special grace of God, we have four beautiful children, two of them born in the refugee camps and two in Australia. The best part of my life is the grace of God that is always my guide and Shepard. I love God because He has always been there for me and my family.

My coming to Australia with my immediate family gave me a second chance to a better future especially for my kids whom I thought could never get the educate they deserve. I am very grateful to the Australian people for opening their doors for us. We love this nation and we will forever commit our loyalty to serve this country with all our hearts and minds. Been citizens of Australia brings responsibilities and the privileges that follows are significant towards the building of brighter futures for humankind. TO CONTINUE FROM HERE
